RE: Proposal for
Oceanography Advisory Committee Beginning Underwater Basket Weaving is a course designed to acquaint
students with the basic principles of underwater basket weaving. The
history, materials and techniques of underwater basket weaving are
reviewed and students are provided the opportunity to weave baskets
underwater. This is a 54-hour course that meets for 1 1/2 hours, twice a
week for 18 weeks. Of that time 40 hours is spent in the classroom and 14
hours in the lab. Maximum enrollment is 25 students. PURPOSE OF THE COMMITTEE The committee, to be comprised of people from local colleges and
industry, will provide advice about what students in the Oceanography
course here at Chaffey College should learn in that course in order to
prepare them for entry level employment in Oceanography. Establishing and
maintaining such a committee would help to insure that our Oceanography
course is meeting student needs. It would also provide an excellent basis
for a productive school/community relationship. STEPS TO BE TAKEN * Proposal submitted to president. |
